Day 9 ItsAboutTime, “FairHope Docks” to “The Wharf” Orange Beach, AL. 30 NM

After 2 full days in Port and a much needed break we were able to get caught up on a lot of little things.

Pushed off at 10:30 AM; out to Mobile Bay (found we needed to go thru a learning curve on Navigation in open water) found our way to the “Gulf ICW” (Inner Coastal Waterway) and off to Orange Beach.

On the way a “pelican” (see picture) hitched a ride for about 30 minutes taking a break from fishing. He was on board so lond we named him Peter Pelican.

The wind and current at The Wharf was our biggest docking challenge we have faced. Mike took first turn and after a couple passes turned it over and with some challenge I was able to stern in and dock this Yacht for the night.

Tomorrow we have a big day planned 60 NM to Shalimar, FL., weather will be a factor tomorrow so we will keep our counsel on the time or whether to travel at all.

We are off to a Great dinner at one of the Seafood places on the Wharf Square.

Peter Pelican hitched a ride on “ItsAboutTime” today for about 30 minutes and Mother Nature has refused any charges.
Pretty Smug for a hitch hiker.
First light this morning at our slip in FairHope Docks
Safe in our slip at The Wharf nice place to visit: last July by land and today by Sea.
