This day started out quite early when about 1:00 AM (middle of night by any measure) I woke up to 30-40 knot wind pushing and rocking the boat against the dock and some very uncomfortable sounding noises that needed to be checked on to ensure the lines and the fenders were properly protecting the boat.
My instincts were correct due to the fact the Harbor Master had us tie up to a split floating dock our fenders needed to be repositioned and with 30 knot wind and seas it was too difficult alone so had to get Mike up and together over about the next hour slowly were able to reposition fenders and lines to protect the Boat.
Of course after a couple hours up fighting the wind and the sea going back to bed and sleep was not so easy.
Once up Saturday my task was to take the entire galley apart and scrub all the nooks, crannies and reset the space, looks and feels better. Also detailed the Flybridge major hand scrubbed the deck and the equipment. Mike made Saturday his Laundry day and then washed all the inside of the windows making a batch of a special window cleaning formula. We found time to stop by the Pool Bar and then later ate dinner on-board the boat as the restaurant was closed for a special event.
Earlier last week I took some time while Mike was at the helm and used a special cleaner on all 7 of our fenders which has added to our quite well maintained and clean boat. Big improvements this week. We knew once we got into good warm weather we would feel more active and productive. One more day in Port Sunday.
