ItsAboutTime March 2, 2023 Travel from Marco Island to the Galleon Resort and Marina, KEY WEST, Florida; 85 NM

The seas where more than expected and it made for a tough day most of it because of time and sunlight we push as fast as the seas would allow and frankly this was the toughest day I have had on the water since we left the Tennessee river last January. The seas were very tough could not leave the deck it was so rough and making it worse was Crab Pots and more Crab pots. Had some bad luck when I did snag one the risk here is the line gets tangled on the prop shaft, engine overheats requiring shut down etc. Fortunately we dragged the trap for a short while and it did fall loose but crab Pot floats are a boaters nightmare.

However it was quick to forget all the stress because “living the dream bucket list”….. arriving Key West, in your own Yacht, pretty cool, of course!

Dinner on the dock and a well earned good nights sleep.
